About The Needles

As you can see, the needles are very thin, almost hair like. There are five needles fitting inside a standard hypodermic needle, the kind we know all about.

There was actually enough room left in the hypo needle to fit two more acupuncture needles, but the photographer only had five to work with.

This photo puts the acupuncture needle in an better size perspective.

Here are more facts:

     - The needles are sterile.

     - They are disposed of after use.

     - None are ever used again for any purpose.

The needling experience is different for everyone. Very occasionally some people feel some minor discomfort during insertion. However, that discomfort seldom lasts more than a second or two.

Most people feel relaxed or energized after the needles are inserted. In fact, many people fall asleep!

Patients who may be unusually sensitive to needles can be treated using newer techniques such as
very low voltage electro-acupuncture, bio-magnets or Herbal Medicine. Cold Laser Therapy may also be considered for treatment.

In any case, until you experience the needle, you'll never know if you are comfortable with them and whether you can benefit from acupuncture.
