Dr. O’Brien has been in the health care field for over 20 years. Prior to working in Acupuncture he specialized in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine as an Registered Nurse. Prior to becoming an RN, he was a licensed paramedic, and thus brings to his new vocation a deep understanding of conventional western medicine.

Dr. O’Brien came to Acupuncture as a patient. Acupuncture greatly reduced his chronic back pain which was the result of a skiing injury. His experience provided insight that drove him to make a mid-life career change to study and practice Acupuncture.

Dr. O’Brien is a native of Rhode Island and a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, the oldest acupuncture college in the United States. His training required 4 years of study and internship.
